If you know me at all then you know that I'm just a little obsessed with Neil Young. And i don't think anyone knows this better than my brother-in-law. From the day we first met we have been fighting about who is better, Neil or Bruce. We are both particularly stubborn and absolutely refuse to see the others side. (even though I am clearly the winner.) I now offer you my top fifty reasons why Neil Young is better than Bruce Springsteen.
1) When people shout "booooce" at your concerts, its not a good sign.
2) Bruce Springsteen??? No. More like booce stinksteen.
3) Bruce may have a lot more radio play, but only because every song sounds the same; poor boy down on his luck, no girls like him and he cant get out of his hick town.
4) Neil Young may not be as commercially popular as Bruce is, but he rocks harder.
5) Neil Young's songs don't all sound like they came from the same cookie cutter mold (like Bruce's).
6) Neil Young writes whatever he feels like regardless of how popular it would make him.
7) Neil Young doesn't give a shit about what people think about him.
8) Neil Young fucking built a car that runs on water!
9) All Bruce has accomplished recently is pollute the superbowl half-time air.
10) Bruce is the name of that fat kid in "Matilda" who eats all the cake.
11) Neil Young has not only performed as a solo act, but has also been in many different bands.
12) Neil has been in Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and Crazy Horse.
13) Bruce is so self centered that he has never played with another band.
14) Neil Young was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame four years before Bruce.
15) Neil was in the first class to be inducted into the museum.
16) If Dave Rubens likes him (Bruce) you know it can't be good! (just kidding Dave you're my favorite brother in law!!!)
17) Nothing good comes from New Jersey. Ironically, or not, Bruce's home state is New Jersey.
18) Bruce calls himself "The Boss". Just a little conceited?
19) Bruce cheated on his wife, what a catch!
20) Neil wrote a song in early 2006 stating that Obama could/should be the next president, and look what happened.
21) Neil Young plays five instruments! Guitar, Harmonica, Piano, Banjo, and Synclavier. Talk about talent.
22) Bruce only plays three instruments: Guitar, Piano, and Harmonica. Lame.
23) Neil Young plays a Gibson R6 Les Paul Goldtop that he named "Old Black".
24) Bruce Springsteen plays a Fender Esquire. It is not named. What a great singer/songwriter he is, he can't even name a damn guitar.
25) Neil Young has played in 11 bands, including Pearl Jam.
26) Bruce has only played in 8 bands.
27) Neil Young has 43 solo albums.
28) Bruce has only 23 solo albums...Neil has nearly double that amount, not including his work with other musical groups.
29) Neil Young was ranked #9 in the Top 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in Mojo magazine.
30) Neil was #2 after Bob Dylan in the Greatest Living Songwriters article in Paste Magazine.
31) Neil Young has a spider named after him!! It's the Myrmekiaphilia neilyoungi spider!!
32) Neil Young is the original founder of Farm Aid.
33) Neil created the Bridge School Concerts, to help children with special needs.
34) Neil has directed four movies!
35) Bruce's songs all talk about how he is just a poor man, although he lives in a very upscale community.
36) Bruce still lives in New Jersey, which still sucks, by the way.
37) Bruce's lyrics never get any better, and he insists on writing the same things over and over.
38) Neil Young is known as "The Godfather of Grunge".
39) Neil had a brain aneurysm, but was in the middle of recording an album and waited a few days to go to the hospital. Talk about dedication!

41) We recognize that Neil can't sing either, but at least he doesn't care.
